Shaw Cable Deal

Have you been with Shaw for years? Do you always pay your bills on time? Did you know that you are entitled to the same deals they are offering first time customers? Below I will tell you how you can get these deals.

Step 1: Do your research before calling. Google and find out what the promotional offers Telus has for first time customers. Current promotion is a free Samsung Tablet, internet and cable for $40 a month for the first 6 months. See Telus promotions. Also Google the promotional offers that Shaw is offering first time customers. See Shaw promotions.

Step 2: Know what you want before you call, ie. internet, tv or home phone. Know how much you are willing to spend.

Step 3: Call Shaw and request to speak to the Customer Retention Department.

Step 4: Tell them you are unhappy with the cost of your current package. Tell them what you want and if they say they can't offer you what you want for that price ask them "what can you offer me?".  Don't hang up till you get an offer you are happy with.

Tips

• Never signed a 3 year contract with Shaw or Telus.
• Don't get angry, maintain your cool and stand your ground.
• Be confident. Know what you want and know what other companies are offering.
• No harm in asking.
• The prices are only getting cheaper and the speeds for internet are getting faster. There are more options becoming available in Vancouver, ie. Novus, if your building is wired for it. The more competition the easier it is to negotiate with the company you choose.

Remember to put a reminder in your phone to call them back in 6 months and see if they will extend the original offer for $39.90 for the rest of the year.
